This week I was able to have a job shadow at Thomas and Harvey Orthodontics. I had the opportunity to watch and orthodontist check on many different patients. I also had the chance to watch a new set of braces be put on a patient. My favorite part was when they added the colors at the end. I was also able to see the new technology at use, there are a newer type of braces which can be defined as "inside braces" rather than "outside braces." It was a very well experience and I can not wait to go on more shadows.

We also had the opportunity to participate in a lab known as the "seeding lab." The primary focus of the lab was to enhance our surgical dexterity and fine motor skills. For this activity, we were provided with bell peppers and needle drivers, and our task was to carefully remove as many seeds as possible within a 60-second time limit. The challenge was made more engaging by asking us to imagine that the seeds were cancerous seedings, and our goal was to "surgically" extract them, just as a surgeon would during a real operation. The exercise tested both our precision and speed. After three rounds of seed extraction, I managed to remove a total of 110 seeds.
