(Interventions)

This week has been a significant one for me as I have made a decision that will shape my senior year and potentially my future career path. I have decided to pursue a career in Orthodontics within the healthcare field. Due to my personal experiences and my appreciation for the impact care can have on an individual. This profession not only consists of straightening teeth but it can also help improve speech and chewing issues. This is also referred to as malocclusion. Having complications can lead to a decrease in oral infections and any other oral health complications. Being on top of these issues, will help lead to a healthier smile and lifestyle. During, my own journey with braces I faced many trials and tribulations but I found it enjoyable because of the comfort I felt each time I walked through the office doors. I always felt at ease when I lay in the chair because of my relationship with my orthodontist. He made me feel safe at the scariest times. I knew I would always have the opportunity to be able to ask questions or express my concerns without feeling belittled. I have also always been satisfied by the idea of helping out others to better themselves. I aspire to be this role model for future generations and help show others they can make a difference in others no matters where they end up. I will hopefully one day be able to create a career in this profession. Achieving a better understanding of the entire concept of Orthodontics and also having the ability to make a huge difference in someone's life seems like a very valuable life style to me.
