This week in Biomed, we started off learning about braille. I have actually really enjoyed learning about this. I am very fascinated that a 15-year-old boy created this whole entire system. He used an awl to create braille. This system uses a six-dot system where nothing is repeated again. To know if it is a capital or a number, a symbol is put in front of the words that will indicate that. We practiced this using muffin pans and tennis balls, creating a message Mrs. McCleery had given us. My message was "Braille balderdash would be fun."

I also worked on my outreach presentation as I got ready to prepare for Monday as I went to teach the 2nd graders about brushing their teeth correctly. I practiced with my class, and they all enjoyed my presentation. I am very excited about this and love helping little kids learn new things. I got red tablets to help the kids see the plaque that is still left on their teeth from the morning above.
