Ms. Gwinn is a member of the Mobile County Health Department. "Community support yo be well, get well, and stay well." They were established because of federal funds to look at health disparity. The main goals of the health department is to connect with the community as well as listen to them and to build community partnership. Goodwill and Servent Love work with the department to provide help for the community. They conduct assessments, analyze data, develop partnerships, plan programs, advocate. What is Health Equity? It is achieved when everyone has the opporuitinty to be as healthy as possible. She talks about how they remove obstacles to goof health so everyone has a chance. "You want a solution for yourself and to help you."


Ms. Sommerlyn Mitchell Johnson spoke to us about women, infant, and children. They provide food and needs for pregnant women and children up to the age of 5. On the nutrition aspect they have been experts on diet and nutrition. "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." When you choose to eat food make sure to eat protein, energy, vitamins, and minerals.
