What is Radiology? Specialize in diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases using medical imaging. Radiologist can do work for looking at images sent to them is a common part of work of a diagnostic radiologist. There is also another type of radiology which is called "Interventional Radiology" this includes guided surgeries such as biopsies, angioplasties, and some vein ounctures. We also learned from Joshua about some of the basics of an x-ray which include that bones appear white, breaks and fractures appear black and your fat appears grey. I thought this was very cool because I just x-rays were black and white and had no meaning other than breaks or fractures.
After Joshua finished his lesson we did an experiment with a highlighter and a black light flashlight. We were split into girls and boys and had to use the highlighter to draw "broken bones" on our body and then the other team was too try to find them using the flashlight. This represented exactly what an x-ray machine would show.
